A Retrospective From the Archives From January of 2025 on the Reactionary Assault on America
We begin with an interview from January 23, 2025 on the Trump/Musk presidency’s steamroller of reactionary initiatives flattening the Democrats and intimidating the press into treating a sociopathic felon as a legitimate leader. We discuss a manifesto of persistence that is resistance in order to stand up to the firehose of unpopular outrages Trump is inflicting on the land as he frees thugs and vandals and drug kingpins. We were joined by Gil Duran, a San Francisco journalist who previously served as editorial page editor of The Sacramento Bee and The San Francisco Examiner. He currently writes the FrameLab Newsletter on Substack and regularly contributes to the San Francisco Chronicle and other publications. He served as Press Secretary for Kamala Harris when she was the Attorney General of California, and we discuss his article with George Lakoff at FrameLab, “Woody’s New Year’s Resolutions and Ours?”
An Interview From February 2025 on Musk’s Deliberate Destruction of the U.S. Government
Now we will go to an interview from February 27, 2025 when we examined the performative nature of Musk’s evisceration of the US government under the pretext of cutting spending in order to give massive tax break to oligarchs like himself which is so far is saving a pittance but is crippling the federal workforce which appears to be the real intention of DOGE. Joining us was Brooke Harrington, a professor of economic sociology at Dartmouth College, a certified wealth manager, and an advisor to the OECD and European Parliament, among other organizations. She is the author of several books, including the best-selling Capital without Borders. Her latest book is Offshore: Stealth Wealth and the New Colonialism and she has an article at The New York Times we discuss, “Trump Is Like F.D.R. — Only in Reverse.”
