We begin with yesterday’s prancing presentation by Defense Secretary Hegseth before the troops in his “State of the Force” address which, along with push-ups, testosterone and culture wars insults, was infused with religious nationalist dogma including a promise he is “placing spiritual health at the same level as physical health. Our department is, you might say, putting on the full armor of God.” Joining us is Michael Weinstein, the founder and president of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation and a leader of the movement to restore the constitutionally mandated separation of church and state in the United States military. He served on active duty in the U.S. Air Force as a judge advocate (JAG) for ten years and also worked for more than three years as legal counsel in the Reagan White House.
