The UN’s Palestinian Representative’s Call For a UN Peacekeeping Protection Force in Gaza

We begin with the UN’s Permanent Observer for the State of Palestine’s call for an international protection force in Gaza that emerged from Sunday’s emergency meeting of the UN Security Council. Joining us to discuss how the formal request to the UN General Assembly for an international peacekeeping force to protect Gazans facing death could be implemented is Sarah Leah Whitson, the executive director of Democracy for the Arab World Now DAWN. She was formerly the executive director of Human Rights Watch’s Middle East and North Africa Division, where she oversaw the work of the division in 19 countries. Her forthcoming book is, From Apartheid to Democracy: A Blueprint for Peace in Israel-Palestine.
