While Musk Spends Half a Billion on Republicans, “Spam PAC’s” and Greedy Consultants Eat up a Lot of Hard-Earned Money From Democratic Small Donors
We begin with the massive spending underway in this midterm election with Musk pouring in a half a billion dollars to prop up Republicans while millions of small donors help make the Democrats competitive. However “spam PACs” in the Democratic fundraising ecosystem and greedy consultants are eating up a lot of the hard-earned money from small donors and some so-called Democratic fundraising groups like the Democratic Strategy Institute who solicit online are outright scams and grifts. Joining us is Jake Grumbach, a Professor at the Goldman School of Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley, and a contributing editor at the Boston Review. He is the author of Laboratories against Democracy: How National Parties Transformed State Politics and he has an article at The New Republic we discuss, “How the Consulting Class Is Eating the Democratic Party.“
The Report From Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee Alleges Trump Was “An Active Participant in Jeffrey Epstein’s Abuse of Young Women and Girls in the Mid-to-Late 1990s”
Then we examine the 53 page report released yesterday by Jaimie Raskin, the ranking Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, which makes the case against Donald Trump emerging from the Epstein Files and the DOJ’s desperate effort to cover it up. The report alleges that Trump was “an active participant in Jefrey Epstein’s abuse of young women and girls in the mid-to-late 1990’s.” While much of the focus is on Trump and his rampage of destruction undermining our government, weakening our military, destroying our diplomacy, environment, rule of law, science, education, health and social cohesion, it is important to look into who Trump is as a person. Joining us to expose the depravity and tabloid squalor of this low-life in the White House and the cadre of sleazy sidekicks and corrupt criminal creeps slithering out of the MAGA swamp is Nina Burleigh, a senior editor at The New Republic, best-selling author, documentary producer, and publisher of the Substack American Freakshow. A professor at New York University’s Arthur J. Carter Journalism Institute, her journalism has been published widely and she has written seven books, the latest of which include The Trump Women: Part of the Deal, and she has a new novel, Turn Around Don’t Drown and Nina is the Producer of a recent documentary series on Apple TV, “Epstein’s Shadow.”
