How Democrats Can Distance Themselves From Nutty Ideas Like Cancelling Thanksgiving and Why Third Way Should Not Waste Money Trashing Democratic Socialists

We begin with the so-called Democratic establishment closing ranks behind Abdul El-Sayed as his defeated opponent along with the Governor of Michigan are uniting in the shared goal of defeating Trump and winning back the senate. We discuss plans by the corporatist Third Way to spend $15 million against progressive Democratic candidates as well as how Democrats can distance themselves from nutty ideas like cancelling Thanksgiving and Valentine’s Day along with getting rid of borders, police and prisons. Joining us is Lindsay Owens, president and CEO of Groundwork Action. A nationally recognized public policy expert, she previously served as a senior economic policy adviser to Senator Elizabeth Warren, and deputy chief of staff and legislative director to Representatives Keith Ellison as well as Progressive Caucus Chair Pramila Jayapal. She is the author of the forthcoming book out in September, Gouged: The End of a Fair Price–and What That Means for Your Wallet.

The Uncanny Parallels Between Hiltler’s Project 1933 and Trump’s Project 2025

Then we note the uncanny parallels between Hitler’s project 1933 and Trump’s Project 2025 and how key figures in the 53 days it took Hitler to turn a democracy into a dictatorship like the Nazi press baron Alfred Hugenberg are similar to Rupert Murdoch and Joseph Goebbels is likened to Stephen Miller. Joining us is Jacob Heilbrunn, the Editor at the National Interest and a non-resident senior fellow at The Atlantic Council’s Eurasia Center and a columnist for The Spectator. His books include They Knew They Were Right: The Rise of the Neocons and America Last: The Right’s Century-Long Romance with Foreign Dictators. He is also editor-at-large of The Jerusalem Strategic Tribune and he has an article at The National Interest we discuss, “Lessons in Adolf Hitler’s Rise to Power.”

Trump and His Greedy Family and Treasonous Oligarchs

Then finally we speak with Casey Michel, one of the US’s leading journalists and authors covering the world of dark money and international corruption. He has testified in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee on the links between illicit financial networks and national security and is currently sanctioned by the Russian regime for his work. His books include American Kleptocracy: How the U.S. Created the World’s Greatest Money Laundering Scheme in History and Foreign Agents: How American Lobbyists and Lawmakers Threaten Democracy Around the World. We discuss his latest book, just out, United States of Oligarchy: How America’s Wealthiest Ally with Dictators, Weaken the U.S., and Destroy Democracy.
